After graduating from the College of Idaho, he started his higher education career there as an admissions recruiter. After two years there and a two year stint teaching and coaching in Oregon, Graydon returned to southern Idaho where he completed a 28 year run at the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls, Idaho as the Dean of Students. Graydon headed north in 2012 to accept the position of Vice President of Student Services at North Idaho College in Coeur d’ Alene. Along the way, Graydon has been highly involved in community organizations including the Boys and Girls Club, Chamber of Commerce, fine arts organizations, and his church. Graydon was the River City Leadership Class of 2014 President, served as chair of the Post Falls Chamber Board this past year, is on the Salvation Army Kroc Center Advisory Board, and serves on the North Idaho Region Advisory Board for US Bank. He recently completed a stint on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) western region.
Graydon’s years of service in Idaho higher education has earned him recognition as an engaged and innovative partner with secondary education, local agencies, business, industry, the State Board of Education, and the Idaho legislature. He has received the Distinguished Service Award from the Idaho School Counselor’s Association, The Business partnership Award from the Idaho Association of Student Councils, and is an Honorary Member of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community colleges. At North Idaho College, he has led initiatives that dramatically reduced student loan debt, improved campus security and safety, improved services to veteran students, supported construction and expansion of opportunities for students in career and technical education, and helped lead the effort to successfully open a new student recreation center.
Graydon has a bachelor’s of science degree in mathematics education and a master’s of education degree in counseling from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. He has completed his coursework from Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho for a doctorate degree in Higher Education Leadership and is currently preparing to defend his dissertation this June.

Oldest son, Graham, is a graduate of Arizona State University and works as Director of Sales and Marketing for Foxhall Resort outside of Atlanta, Georgia. Youngest son, Jordan, graduated from New York University and he, and wife Amanda, live the poor lives of an aspiring and ever auditioning musical theater stars in New York City while paying their bills from the proceeds of waiting tables and babysitting!
